A near death experience (NDE) is a profound spiritual event
experienced by a person close to death or, if not in death, in a
situation of spiritual transformational crisis. Because this event
includes transcendental and mystical elements, an NDE is a powerful
event on a person. The results of the event significantly alter and
forever change a person’s life path and purpose.
The First Universalist Church of Denver presented a panel discussion about the nature of the Near Death Experience (NDE) from a
research and experiential perspective. Denver IANDS Near Death Studies was the sponsor. The panel of four included researcher Dr. Roy Hill who
has over 20 years of methodically uncovering the significance and
meaning of NDEs, along withDeirdre Dewitt Maltby, Rex Fingeld and Nancy Rynes; three participants who shared their own
perspectives on their personal NDEs. The panel was moderated by
Constance J. Wells, MS, who is the organizer, founder, of the Denver
International Association for Near Death Studies (IANDS).
